President Donald Trump announced that tariffs will start being collected on Aug. 1.<\/p>\n

In a new social media post, Trump indicated that Aug. 1 is the firm date and that there will be no extensions.<\/p>\n

\u201cTARIFFS WILL START BEING PAID ON AUGUST 1, 2025,\u201d Trump wrote. “There has been no change to this date, and there will be no change. In other words, all money will be due and payable starting AUGUST 1, 2025 – No extensions will be granted.\u201d<\/p>\n

His social media post comes as the president indicated on Monday evening that the Aug. 1 deadline is flexible, offering a mixed message to his previous comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I would say, firm but not 100% firm if they call up and they say, would like to do something, a different way, whether it be open to that. But essentially, that’s the way it is right now,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Trump claimed all trade deals were \u201cdone.”<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’ve spoken to everybody we know … I told you. We’ll make some deals. But for the most part, we’re going to send a letter,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

He also signaled that the time for negotiations is over.<\/p>\n
