It wasn\u2019t long ago that picking a muzzle device was dependent on your suppressor make and model. We forget, and probably take for granted, that picking out a new silencer meant that you were making a lifetime commitment to a system and a manufacturer \u2013 a near cult-like membership akin to Ford vs Chevy followers. It was either that, or decide that you were going to be in the smaller group of direct-thread devotees that simply chose to abstain from the muzzle device and mount wars.<\/p>\n

Besides the time and energy it takes to swap out a flash hider from one company to a muzzle brake from another, there is a cost aspect as well. Investing in a mounting system meant that all of the suppressors you owned from that manufacturer could be swapped across different hosts (caliber requirements aside, obviously). And the cost of having to purchase two or three muzzle devices every time you purchase a new suppressor can add up quickly, with some companies charging close to $200 for a single muzzle device.<\/p>\n

During this time, the YHM mounting system and muzzle devices were highly regarded for their one-handed attach and remove characteristics, solid locking features, and reasonable costs compared to other options. As time moved on, manufacturing processes improved, designs evolved, and manufacturers made systems that were lighter, less complex, and compatible with other brands. We are still working on the affordability part of this equation.<\/p>\n

The 1.375 x 24 \u201cHUB\u201d adapter system was a simple answer to the question of how to make a variety of muzzle devices adaptable across a wider selection of suppressor manufacturers. Today, all the major silencer companies offer models outfitted with the HUB thread pattern.<\/p>\n

In the last few years, YHM has added HUB compatible mounts for the classic YHM Phantom muzzle brakes and flash hiders. They have also added kurz (\u2018k\u2019 or small size) Phantom muzzle devices and a newer, lightweight mount system called the sRx. Let\u2019s take a look at the complete lineup to see which one fits your needs.<\/p>\n

The HUB direct thread mount comes standard with all HUB compatible YHM silencers and does not require the use of a muzzle device.<\/p>\n
