Defense attorneys questioned Kerry Morgan regarding why she hasn\u2019t rekindled her friendship with Cassie Ventura since their last meeting, in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cI draw the line at physical abuse,\u201d Morgan testified. \u201cThe reason I stopped speaking to her was she was not supportive of me after that incident,\u201d referring to Combs’ alleged assault on Morgan.<\/p>\n

Morgan testified<\/a> earlier in the day that Combs allegedly caused her to have a concussion after she told the jury he threw a wooden hanger at her at Ventura\u2019s home in 2018. Morgan testified that she received $30,000 from Combs after threatening a lawsuit regarding the alleged incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t demand money from anyone. She offered it,\u201d Morgan testified, referring to Ventura. \u201cThe money wasn\u2019t coming from her. She was the in-between” for Combs, Morgan told the court.<\/p>\n

Morgan testified that Ventura offered her the money to sign an NDA, or nondisclosure agreement. \u201cThat was essentially to close the case on it. You don\u2019t get to sue anybody or say anything public about it,\u201d Morgan alleged.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you still never became friends again?\u201d defense attorney Marc Agnifilo asked, referring to Ventura.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe still hasn\u2019t reached out to me,\u201d Morgan responded. \u201cI\u2019m sure she doesn\u2019t have the same phone number.\u201d<\/p>\n

Much of the defense cross-examination of Morgan focused on jealousy, seeking to reinforce the defense’s contention that Combs became violent not to coerce women into sex but because of jealousy and drugs.<\/p>\n

Agnifilo showed Morgan a text exchange in which she sent Combs a lengthy \u201caffirmation\u201d that Agnifilo said was penned by an author who writes about self-love.<\/p>\n

\u201cDid you believe Mr. Combs did not love himself?\u201d Agnifilo asked Morgan.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes it seemed like he did not,\u201d Morgan testified.<\/p>\n

On re-direct, prosecutor Meredith Foster argued that jealousy was not part of either of the alleged assaults on Cassie Ventura that Morgan claimed in previous testimony to have witnessed.<\/p>\n

Referring to the alleged assaults in Los Angeles and Jamaica, Foster asked Morgan: \u201cPrior to that what, if any, argument did you hear about jealousy?\u201d<\/p>\n

Morgan replied, \u201cNone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morgan\u2019s testimony has concluded.<\/p>\n
